Wednesday, 27th of April

I'm working right now. Well, working.... I just check people in and do the laundry every hour or so. It's pretty nice actually! Today was a wonderful day, the weather is superb and I went to the park with Margot. It's amazing how different parks are if you compare it to the Netherlands. It's normal in Dublin to have lunch in the park, even if you're a bussinessman. I saw loads of ties comming into the park with their packed lunch. I never would have thought that was possible!

I wanted to surprise Dirk with a very nice birthdaycard (his birthday is Friday) and I went to the postoffice. I thought it would take two or three days at the most to get it delivered, but the dude at the postoffice told me that it would be delivered next Tuesday! I thought he made a joke, but he looked pretty serious..

Tuesday, 26th of April

I had an amazing day yesterday. Those girls fromNorway, Nina and Liv, are absolutely wonderful. We went with the train to Howth and it was the most wonderful village I've ever seen. Ok, that's not entirely true, but it's definitely one of the most interesting villages that I've seen. The weather was not perfect, it shifted from cloudy to sunny so fast I couldn't keep track.

We first went to the market they held there, which was superb. Liv and Nina both bought a necklace. We had fish & chips and fudge. It was legendary. I only missed one thing. When I was sitting on the beach and I looked at the sea I only wished for one thing: That I could share that moment with the most important person in my life: Dirk. I'm definitely going back to Howth with him when he comes here.

Last night was also legendary, we ate at The Brazen Head, which is the oldest

pub in Dublin and after that we went out. We went to Temple Bar (www.thetemplebarpub.com), which is a pub with live music every day. There was a guy with a guitar who was amazing, he played wonderful songs from Ronan Keating and Bob Dylan. On the other side of the pub there was a typical Irish band playing Irish folk music. We had the time of our lives in those pubs.

In the end we did something kind of bad... Nina and I had a couple of Bulmers (which is an Irish cider) and I mentioned that I would loooooove to take a pint of Bulmers home. And so we did... <--

Monday, 25th of April

The first time that I overslept in Dublin. Woke up at 10, I must've been very tired... A couple of Norwegian girls asked me if I wanted to come with them to Howth which is a harbour and beach near Dublin. I immediately said yes and right now I'm waiting until 12 to get some food and walk to Tara Station to take the Dart with them to Howth. I'm really looking forward to it! Amazing how fast you make friends in a hostel, it's the best place to be on your own:) I'll let you know how it turns out!

Sunday, 24th of April

Happy Easter everybody!

I started today with a service at 11 in the Christ Church Cathedral just around the corner of the hostel. I couldn't find a 'normal' protestant service in Dublin, so I went for the Anglican service in Christ Church Cathedral. It was a very nice experience. The building alone got me goosebumps all over. They had a choir which was absolutely amazing. They sung parts of the Messiah of Händel so beautifully, it sent chills down my spine... The only thing that was a bummer was the sermon itself. The whole service took over 1,5 hour and the sermon itself only took ten minutes. This wouldn't be a problem, if it would have been a really captivating and interesting 10 minutes. But unfortunately, it wasn't.

The rest of the day passed by with doing nothing basically. I walked around Dublin with a Swedish guy named Diderick (or however you spell that). He is a eccentric lad, I mean I've never met a guy who would dress the same every single day. He wears a fancy jacket with elbow patches (see picture--->) and a red pair of trousers, I repeat, EVERY day... Quite attached to it I guess.

I spent the afternoon just hanging around in the hostel. At six I decided to make some pasta, which was absolutely delicious! I'm getting the hang of it, bring it on! When I was eating my delicious dinner, a couple of Australian lads started to talk to me and asked if I wanted to play cards with them. They thought that they had an easy victim, but they guessed wrong. I totally dominated:)

Well, I'm sorry I don't have something really awesome going on here right now. Just hanging out. If you've got any suggestions about what I should do the following days, let me know;) I've got two days off, so plenty of free time on my hands!
